Yiewsley loses pool, gains health centre

A new Health Centre will replace Yiewsley’s swimming pool.

The new Health Centre is the result of an agreement between the Council and the local PCT. The Council will build the facility and lease it to the PCT. Council leader Ray Puddifoot, who approved the decision, told the Uxbridge Gazette: “With the two new pools opening in Uxbridge and Hayes, there was just no way it could compete. With the car park the pool has, it really would be the best location in the area for the health centre. It will also provide an additional revenue stream for the council, which will be of obvious benefit, its a winner all round.”
