Wood Lane Station in running for PM’s award

Wood lane station Wood Lane Station is in the shortlist for the Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award.

The station - the first new station to be constructed on an existing and unextended Tube line for over 70 years – is an entirely new station located on the Hammersmith and City Line, opposite the BBC Television Centre. It is part of the transport infrastructure enhancements that have taken place in the Shepherds Bush area as part of the Westfield London retail and leisure development.

Designed by Ian Ritchie Architects, and engineered by Waterman, the station is located on the 19th Century Hammersmith and City Line brick viaduct and above three existing Central Line cuttings that pass beneath.
