West London Business has launched the Park Royal Business Group as a new voice for Park Royal businesses.
The Park Royal Business Group aims to provide the businesses of Europe’s leading industrial and commercial estate with a strong voice. WLB believes that their views need to be heard in deciding the major infrastructure, transport and skills developments which will affect the area greatly.
Park Royal, with its more than 2,000 businesses and over 40,000 jobs, is a major economic contributor to London and the wider UK economy. Despite the size of this employment area, and its provision of vital services to the capital and beyond, WLB says its resident businesses currently have no means of representation.
The Park Royal Business Group aims to change that. As a membership body it is set up to give collective views to Government, the Greater London Authority, Mayor, Boroughs, planning, transport and other bodies, whose plans are already deciding the future of the estate. Developments such as HS2, the Mayor’s plans for London, Old Oak Common regeneration and Heathrow will have a powerful impact on Park Royal.
WLB say objectives for the Group include establishing meetings and events where Park Royal businesses can meet with important public and private bodies. It also aims to be a channel for businesses to express their views to local government on practical issues such as roads, security and power.
The Group will operate independently, with its own Board. But to give additional strength and minimise overheads, it will operate within the administrative and financial umbrella of WLB, the chamber of commerce for the whole of West London, which represents over 800 businesses.
Members of the Park Royal Business Group will automatically become members of WLB and enjoy all WLB member benefits.
