Wilkinson Eyre have been appointed to design the new RAF Museum at Hendon after an OJEU competition.
The RAF Museum used the competition to find an architect to take Fielden Clegg Bradley’s plans for the site at Grahame Park Way, just inside Barnet, on to detailed design.
The new building will house the Royal Air Force Museum’s Battle of Britain collection. Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios plans for the Museum published in May last yearinvolved a 116m tall tower containing a scramble lift and suspended World War II planes. These plans now provide the overall strategic direction and core concept for the project.
