Wildlife blocks eco-homes

B Hillingdon had rejected plans to build two eco-homes on a patch of land known for its protected species.

The Uxbridge Gazette reports that the island site is a patch of land surrounded by Fray's River in Cowley. Local objectors had the backing of Uxbridge MP John Randall.

The Planning Committee decided the wildlife which includes,  herons, kingfishers, swans, and foxes was worthy of protection, and feared approving these two houses might lead to further development.
