White City wins lottery

The Big Lottery Fund has awarded the Wormholt & White City ward £1m following an application by the Council.

The award is one of 50 to areas across the country, and will mean £1m is available, over ten years, for local residents to spend as they choose on community improvement projects. Council members and community leaders will now form a Charitable Trust to decide how to use the money.

Councillor Joe Carlebach, council cabinet member for community care told the Hammersmith Chronicle: This will be a truly locally driven project and it is now up to the people of White City to come together and work in partnership with the council, the Big Local Trust and other groups in the area to decide how we spend the money to get the maximum benefit for all the residents of White City.
