Westminster University have gone to tender for a rebuild of part of their Harrow campus.
The scheme involves a combination of light refurbishment, full scale refurbishment and the demolition and reconstruction of some academic buildings. There are eight existing buildings on the site and most will be refurbished to differing extents.
Up to three of the existing buildings will be demolished. The project will be split into 3 phases to allow for the University to remain in occupation and continue teaching throughout the entire project.
The OJEU (Official Journal) tender notice says the rebuild, on a design and build contract, will be achieve a Breeam very good rating with 10 % of its energy requirements generated on-site from renewable or low carbon sources. The size of the works site will be approximately 38,000 sqm.
