Westfield are holding a Job Show on January 30-31 to help recruit some 8000 people to work in the new extension, due to open in March 2018.
Ahead of Westfield’s grand unveiling of its new £600m expansion, which will make Westfield the largest shopping centre in Europe, the shopping centre is helping its tenants staff up with local people.
Cllr Andrew Jones, H&F Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said: “Working alongside Westfield, we aim to provide more employment and training to residents as we strive to make H&F the best place to live, work and socialise in Europe.”
Hammersmith & Fulham Council have worked alongside Westfield to provide more than 12,000 jobs since the shopping centre opened 10 years ago.
In addition to the Job Show later this month, H&F Council and Westfield recently staged a local job fair in the White City Community Centre for local residents to learn about the employers coming to the Westfield extension and the type of job vacancies on offer.
Jobs will be available with big name retailers including Primark, as well as fashion stores Urban Revivo and Emperor, and Bravissimo, Ichiba Japanese Food Hall and boutique bowling venue All Star Lanes.
“We are looking forward to welcoming all who are interested in employment and training to our job show,” said Duncan Bower, Director of Development at Westfield.
“With Hammersmith & Fulham Council and local colleges we have done a great deal to help inform and prepare the local community for these jobs. And now, with the launch of the expansion just two months away, we encourage local residents to head along to the Job Show to apply.”
