Westfield effect hits Ealing

Ealing_broadway Footfall on Ealing Broadway fell by 7% last weekend, following the opening of Westfield London.

Ealing Gazette reports that footfall fell 7.4% against the same weekend last year. Undoubtedly some of the fall will be due to Westfield, but clearly the poor economy will have had an effect too.

The Gazette also notes that nationally footfall was down 11% for the weekend, so Ealing Broadway is actually holding up well, despite Westfield.

More than one weekend's figures will be needed to know the full effect though.
