Westfield consult on extension

Westfield plans to begin consultations next month on a major mixed-use extension of its Westfield London.

The plans include the addition of 500,000 sq ft of retail space, as well as1,700 new homes, as well as cafes, restaurants and a pedestrianised quarter, all on land which is part of the White City Opportunity Area. There will be a new street interspersed with civic spaces linking under the viaduct arches to White City Green, the new public open space to the north.

The outline masterplan has been designed by Allies and Morrison, the architects behind the BBC Media Village, Kings Cross Central masterplan and Highbury Square.
