A partnership between Brent Council and Somali businessmen Ahmed and Yusaf is improving the look of Wembley High Road.
Shops Dahabshill, Almis Travel and First Global Centre located at 391 and 391a Wembley High Road are sporting a new look after the businessmen arranged a clean-up and installation of new shutters to their shop’s frontage.
Brent Council organised a workshop with local artists and the two business men to discuss a plan for shutter artwork.
Cllr Shama Tatler, Cabinet Member for said: “The vibrant new-look shutters are a welcome addition to Wembley High Road.
“Following the success of the project the plan is to help other local businesses improve their shopfronts and provide
training to improve their exterior which might be signage, visual merchandising, marketing or shutters.”
Ahmed said: “The shutter art design came out really nice. I loved the design. We would like to thank the people who created this wonderful art as well as Brent Council.”
