This £60m mixed use Dexter Moren Architects designed development for St.Modwen and Rotch Property Group aims to regenerate and re-establish Wembley’s Town Centre as a vibrant shopping and living quarter.
The scheme will be made up of four individual buildings both new and refurbished, providing 14,000sq ft of retail and leisure, 23,000sq ft of offices, 235 residential units (85 affordable), a new public square and refurbished multi-storey car park.
Construction of the 60,000m2 project is being developed across three phases.
Located along Station Grove, Stage 1 (now complete) involved the construction of a new 11 storey building and the refurbishment of an adjacent building to accommodate affordable housing and offices. Complex construction issues were resolved to enable it to be erected over the bridge supporting the main Wembley rail lines.
Stage 2 is currently under construction and also combines new build and refurbishment. A vibrant retail strip will be created along Wembley High Road, with private residential located to the rear.
The final stage of development will occur over and around the Wembley Central Station with additional retail constructed along Wembley High Road and private residential provided behind and above.
Overall project completion is on track for the end of 2009.
