Wembley Masterplan Consultation Extended

Wembley arch041 2 The consultation on the Wembley Masterplan has been extended for two weeks.

The Harrow Observer says Brent Council has been forced to extend the Wembley Masterplan consultation period because people have not had time to comment. Chris Walker, head of planning at Brent Council, said: "A few residents at the Wembley forum last week said they had not had the opportunity to view the plans yet, and to ensure they have the opportunity to comment, Brent Council has offered to take representations for a further two weeks".

At a Wembley area consultative forum, members of Wembley Community Association (WCA) also raised a number of issues. They are worried about the reconnection of North End Road to Bridge Road, which would open part of the pedestrianised street to traffic and which ease traffic congestion in routes around Olympic Way.

The new masterplan covers an area of approximately 171 acres of land to the north and east of the land that has been granted outline planning permission owned by Quintain, and is broadly defined by Empire Way to the west, the two rail lines that converge from the north and south, and the River Brent in the east.
