Wembley damaged in storm

Wembley arch032 Wembley Stadium was damaged in this week's storm, but not structurally, say officials.

There had been reports that the Stadium has suffered a four-storey crack – the Harrow Observer said that a section of the stadium was sealed off after a "massive bang" was heard - but a spokesperson said: "There was some minor movement in the building on Monday morning. Our engineers have reviewed the situation and reports indicate that this has been caused by natural settling.

"As with all large structures, the stadium has been designed with movement tolerance factored in. Reports suggesting that there is a crack in the stadium as a result of this movement are incorrect.

"It's business as usual and the stadium remains fully operational."
