Wembley Central is one of nine areas in London to be granted funds by the Big Lottery fund in their latest round.
The funding is designed to help “forgotten areas” – those ignored by other funding – make improvements.
It comes from the Big Local programme, a £200m Big Lottery Fund investment managed by Local Trust. Each Big Local area will receive at least £1m Lottery funding to spend over the next ten years.
Leader of Brent Council, Cllr Muhammed Butt said: “It can be spent on anything from starting up social enterprises and addressing unemployment to tackling local issues or providing more activities and services for people locally.”
The Big local is scheme is about bringing together all the local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from individuals, groups and organisations who want to make a positive and lasting difference in Wembley Central. Residents will receive training and support to help them identify priorities and develop a plan for their area.
