Wandsworth Council has announced its new programme of support to help local businesses start up and grow.
It is working with the Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce and Branduin Business Support to provide “Your Business, Your Growth” – a package of workshops, mentoring, clinics and one-to-one support programmes to help the borough’s small businesses and start-ups thrive.
The free programme of workshops will look at all aspects of starting or running a small business, including marketing, sales, HR and finance. The aim is to help create at least 40 new businesses, and support at least 60 established small businesses.
There will also be tailored support for digital and tech, and food and hospitality businesses.
The council’s business spokesman Cllr Kim Caddy said the programme was the council’s most comprehensive and ambitious plan yet to support local firms. “We know that small businesses make up more than 99 per cent of all private-sector businesses, so it’s vital that we support this sector in order to ensure Wandsworth is a place where businesses can thrive and employ local people.”
