Uxbridge Lido on track

Uxbridgelidorenderbigger Uxbridge Lido’s renovation continues on track, say the project managers.

Leadbitter, the developer behind the £21million Uxbridge Lido project, held an open day on Saturday to show the progress that has been made renovating the derelict open-air swimming pool and towards building a sports hall and indoor Olympic-sized pool,reports the Uxbridge Gazette.

Ground was broken on the site, in Gatting Way, Uxbridge, in January. SInce then the Grade II listed lido, had to be cleared of many old structures and have a newt-migration route relocated before work could begin.

Developer Leadbitter said "Despite a terrible summer we are happy with progress and the plan is still to hand over next December to Hillingdon Council, who will bring in Fusion to run it on their behalf."

The original lido G Percy Trenton designed Lido was built in 1935.
