Uxbridge Forward has been announced as the replacement for the "Uxbridge Initiative", which has managed and improved the area for the last decade.
Uxbridge Forward, which will launch in a year, has an interim board, made up of Andy Davy from The Mall Pavilions, a representative of Hillingdon Council, IBB Solicitors, Brunel University, property firm Segro and a member of the borough's voluntary sector, reports the Uxbridge Gazette. It's mission is to "ensure Uxbridge town centre is a great place to work, live and play".
Uxbridge Forward will not be controlled by the Council, as was the Uxbridge Initiative, but will be a not-for-profit organisation, responsible for raising and spending its own funds. Improvements will be funded by businesses, with Hillingdon Council matching funds given by The Chimes and The Pavilions, but this is not a Business Improvement District.
