A new report from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) shows 94% of University of West London graduates find employment within six months of graduating.
This is one of the best employment rates (EPI) in the country, and helps rank UWL 20th out of 120 higher education institutions for employability in England. Average graduate employability rate at other modern universities in London stands at 83.5%. Nationally it is around 90%.
Increasing by almost 3% from this time last year, the University’s EPI has exceeded its HESA-set benchmark by 8.4%.
The University is also celebrating the excellent employment rates revealed about its part-time graduates. HESA’s figures show that UWL has some of the most employable part-time students in the country, with 98.2% of students in employment within six months of graduating. These results place UWL in the top 20% of universities in England.
Commenting on the results, Professor Peter John, Vice-Chancellor at the University of West London, said: “The University has a strong reputation for high-quality education closely linked to employment with our graduates going on to achieve great triumphs in their chosen disciplines and professions.”
Professor Anthony Woodman, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise), added: “UWL has a range of highly qualified staff with a wealth of experience in their respective disciplines and strong connections to key industries, making our graduates some of the most desirable in the country.”
