TV Centre plans approved

tvc plansHammersmith & Fulham Council has granted permission for the redevelopment of the former BBC Television Centre.

Stanhope, Mitsui Fudosan, and the Alberta Investment Management Corporation plan a scheme designed by AHMM and including a new club in the Soho House chain, 950 homes, office space and a hotel.

Construction is expected to start in April 2015.

While the sale of the building is part of the BBC’s continuing move away from White City, particularly to regional cities, BBC Studios will return to the TV Centre site to operate the refurbished TV studios. BBC Worldwide and Post Production will also return to occupy the refurbished ‘Building 6’.
