The Tricycle Theatre will reopen in September 2018 following a £7m refurbishment with a new name – Kiln Theatre.
The two-year revamp will have expanded the capacity from 235 to 296 seats with a café, improved bar and foyer.
Artistic director Indhu Rubasingham has pledged to keep ticket prices “accessible” with many at £12.50 or under. It will reopen with an adaptation of Zadie Smith’s novel White Teeth, which is set in nearby Willesden.
The Tricycle company were originally the Wakefield Tricycle Company, based in the Pindar of Wakefield Pub in King’s Cross in the 1970s. They then moved to Kilburn, and The Tricycle was born.
