Tories “absolutely determined” to stop third runway

The Conservatives have warned companies not to apply for contracts to build a third runway at Heathrow airport as the party was "absolutely determined" to stop the project

Theresa Villiers, shadow transport secretary, recently disclosed Tory plans to build a high-speed rail line instead of the runway.

At a press conference she said: "We will not consider ourselves bound by any decision taken by this government."
