Three in running for RNOH work

The Royal National Orthopedic Hospital has shortlisted three contractors for its £71m rebuild.

RNOH issued an OJEU tender earlier this year for a partner to help secure “the design, build, financing, operation and maintenance of new healthcare facilities at the Trust’s existing hospital site at Stanmore”.

The Hospital has now got down to a shortlist of three – Balfour Beatty, Kier-led Prospect Healthcare and Sir Robert McAlpine – who will now be invited to engage in competitive dialogue. Construction Enquirer reports the Trust is aiming to have chosen a preferred bidder within the next 18 months and it is expected that work will begin on the new facility in 2013.
