Poets are at work in South Kilburn, capturing the communities feelings about lfe there, in the latest element of the public art programme.
Three poets are working with people on the South Kilburn estate to put their experiences of the area down in words. “South Kilburn Speaks” is a project operating from the pop-up arts centre in an empty shop on Peel Precinct. It involves the writers helping the lcal community to express their South Kilburn in words, which are then published on the internet. It is hoped to put some of them into permanenet installations around the estate – carved into walls or pavements.
