Transport for London (TfL) is consulting on plans for around 1000 homes on sites near Finchley Central and High Barnet stations.
The schemes would also provide commercial space, improvements to the public realm and better connections for pedestrians. The proposals involve building 650 homes in Finchley Central and up to 350 in High Barnet – 40 per cent of which would be affordable.
The Finchley Central development could bring £240 million of investment into the borough and help revitalise the town centre. The council launched a town centre strategy for Finchley Central in 2017, which identified the station as a key development opportunity.
TfL is beginning six months of public consultation on the proposals.
