TfL extends Olympia consultation

Transport for London (TfL) has extended their public consultation over planned District Line closures after being criticised for not listening to objections, reports the Hammersmith Chronicle.

TfL had announced the weekday District Line service would stop to the spur station, in order to increase frequency on other branches of the line to provide a welcome improvement to commuters using them. Olympia would then only be accessible using London Overground, which would mean visitors changing at West Brompton instead of Earls Court.

Venue owner EC&O had started a campaign to change this decision, and now users of Olympia station and residents havejoined in with a 2,000 name petition.

TfL has now agreed to extend its consultation to June 30 to give residents more time to raise their concerns.
