Tesco withdraws Harrow scheme

Tesco Harrow Tesco is reported to have withdrawn its Station Road scheme from planning.

The Harrow Observer reports that Tesco intends to revise the scheme and resubmit. They had submitted proposals to add a second floor to the store, add a three-storey car park, and build three new retail units.

The scheme met local opposition, and Tesco have decided to revise and resubmit. James Wiggam, Tesco corporate affairs manager told the Observer: "We are committed to bringing forward the best scheme possible for Harrow town centre. To ensure this is the case we have decided not to proceed further with this particular application, and revise the scheme."

It's understood that Tesco intends to submit revised proposals in the early summer.
