Tesco win in Harefield, finally

Tesco has won approval at appeal for a scheme in Harefield, after four refused applications.

The new Express format store is planned for a site next to the Kings Arms pub in Rickmansworth Road. Four successive sets of plans have been refused, largely on traffic grounds. Now a planning inspector has ruled in Tesco’s favour, albeit with a large number of conditions. For example deliveries will only be able to be made by special 8.4 metre vehicles, and only between certain hours.

The store will have three flats on the upper floors of the block. See Uxbridge Gazette coverage.
