Tesco’s plans for a store in Harefield Village have been refused by the Council.
Tesco’s application for a new store on the King’s Arms garage site, in Rickmansworth Road, Harefield, was refused, again. Last year, Tesco tried to secure permission for a ground floor convenience store and three one bedroom houses, which was also refused.
The company appealed to the Planning Inspectorate. They also revised their plans and submitted an amended application. This involved changing the roof detail and height where it meets the Grade II listed Coach House, part of The King’s Arms next to the site, and redesigning the parking spaces so lorries could make deliveries on to the forecourt – traffic was one of the major objections to the first plan.
This amended plan has now been rejected, but the appeal against the decision on the original plan will be heard May 19/20. See more on this story from the Uxbridge Gazette.
