Tesco have had plans refused for the fourth time for the Kings Arms site in Harefield Village.
Tesco had its fourth attempt to gain approval for plans for a Tesco Local next to The King’s Arms pub, in Rickmansworth Road, refused last week. This follows three previous attempts and an appeal.
Richard Barnes, councillor for Harefield as well as London’s Statutory Deputy Mayor told the Uxbridge Gazette their repeated applications were “an abuse of the planning process, and a waste of taxpayers’ money.”
Objections centre on traffic effect, and the supposed negative impact of the development on the village. Tesco has indicated it is willing to accept planning conditions limiting the size of delivery lorries used.
