Tesco has been granted permission for a new 57,000 sq ft store in Hounslow.
The store will be at 714-716 London Road, with a vacant office block demolished to make way. It will include a café, improved public space, additional independent retail units on the ground floor street frontage and over 285 car parking spaces will be provided for use by all town centre shoppers. The store will create up to 350 full and part-time jobs.
Construction is expected to start on site next year with the store opening planning for early 2013.
Tesco corporate affairs manager Tony Fletcher said: “Tesco has wanted to invest in Hounslow for some time and we are delighted to have worked with the local authority and community throughout this process to gain such strong support. We look forward to regenerating this part of the town centre and delivering a greater shopping choice, hundreds of new jobs and multi-million pound investment in Hounslow Town Centre that the scheme will bring.”
