Sudbury Town has been included in the fourth wave of areas chosen to test the Government’s neighbourhood planning.
The idea is that local groups will be able to draw up neighbourhood plans, subject to a referendum, to set out the kind of development they want to prioritise.
The 36 areas just announced are the fourth wave of “front-runners”, and bring the national total to 126. The Department for Communities and Local Government says that each front-runner area’s local authority is being given £20,000 to support work on neighbourhood planning.
