Meanwhile Space’s Start Here project in Harrow has opened, as Cottrell House makes a ‘top five’.
It is based in a formerly vacant shop on the corner opposite Harrow & Wealdstone Station. With the support of Harrow Council, The Start Here programme, aims to seed and nurture Harrow’s enterprising spirit by enabling opportunities from vacant and underused commercial spaces.
The plan is that the temporary activation of vacant properties will facilitate the delivery of a variety of uses relating to leisure, food, family, health, community facilities and entertainment activities in Harrow Town Centre and promote affordable spaces for innovators, makers and designers in Wealdstone and Harrow.
The Start Here project will provide local entrepreneurs access to rent free space through the Meanwhile Academy programme.
At the same time, another Meanwhile Space project, Cottrell House in Wembley- a disused 1960s retail and office space – has been named number two in the top five co-working spaces by Kontor.
The space was refitted as a pilot co-working space by Meanwhile Space working with The Decorators and Brent Council.
