Stanhope announces BBC cash

BBC TV CentreStanhope has revealed a £50m funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland for their redevelopment of the BBC TV Centre.

Stanhope acquired the centre last year, following a review, and the BBC’s decision to continue decanting staff from White City to new locations in Cardiff, Salford, and elsewhere.

Stanhope plan a mixed-use development of residential, office and leisure space as well as a continuing but diminished BBC presence.

David Camp, chief executive of Stanhope Plc, said: “We were thrilled when we secured the mandate and financial backing to redevelop the iconic BBC site, and we are delighted that RBS have seen the potential in us, and this development.”
