St George’s Field plans refused

Plans to develop homes on St George’s field have been refused.

The field in Pinner, owned by St George’s Church, had been the subject of a plan to build 27 new homes, and to gift the remainder of the open space to the Council for public use. However, LB Harrow has now refused the plans.

In 2008 similar plans were refused, and a planning inspector subsequently upheld the decision, but left the door open for another amended application.

The Church has said that it’s amended application was prepared to comply with the comments the inspector made during the prior appeal, and that, given that officers recommended approval of the amended scheme, they will “seek advice” about their next actions. An appeal seems likely.
