St George’s field appeal

St George’s Church in Harrow have appealed LB Harrow’s refusal of their plans to build houses on their church field.

Plans to build homes on part of St George’s Field, and gift the remainder to public use, were refused last year. The church has appealed the decision and there will now be a planning inquiry. This last happened in 2008, when the appeal upheld the council’s refusal of previous plans. The Inspector at that appeal gave the Church guidelines which could now lead to a new appeal approving the present plans for 27 new homes, despite the LB Harrow’s refusal, which followed local opposition.
