Spurs agree extension

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a one-month extension on the deadline to decide whether to play home games away from White Hart Lane in the 2017/18 season.

Brent Council have approved plans to lift the cap on full capacity events at Wembley, opening the way for the club to play home games there while their existing Stadium is demolished and the new one completed.

The new deadline is April 30, 2017. There have been reports that the club were considering remaining at White Hart Lane, despite the building works, but a club statement says that their intention remains to spend next season at the national stadium before returning to their new stadium in Tottenham for the 2018/19 season.
