Spectrum wins again

Home Group’s The Spectrum development in Rayners Lane has been awarded “Best Regeneration Project” at this years’ Affordable Home Ownership Awards.

Home Group was nominated alongside two others, Genesis Housing Association and Berkeley Homes and Levitt Bernstein Associates.

The regeneration scheme is supplying almost 800 new homes in place of 1960s properties, along with a £2.8m community centre which acts as a hub for youth activities, sports facilities, education classes, job clubs, IT training and advice on drugs and alcohol.

The new estate also includes open spaces, play areas, basketball courts and a convenience store.

Mark Henderson, Home Group chief executive, said: “We’re delighted that The Spectrum has won another prestigious industry award. Winning Best Regeneration Project means a lot to us as contributing to the revitalisation of this area of London is exactly what The Spectrum is all about.”

The Spectrum has previously won a silver award in the Commission for Architecture and Built Environment 2010 Building for Life awards for its quality and innovation in architecture and design.
