Hounslow Council and United Living New Homes have marked the progress on site at Sparrow Farm Drive with a topping out ceremony.
Sparrow House will provide 100 per cent socially rented family homes for local people, providing 28 homes. A large communal garden with bicycle storage will be part of the development, fostering a sense of community along with placing emphasis on healthy environmentally-friendly living.
A new community centre is part of the complex and will give residents a flexible space for a variety of activities.
The build started in March this year and the expected completion date is November 2020.
Cllr Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council said: “Sparrow Farm Drive helps us to meet our commitment to the residents of Hounslow to build sustainable, high-quality homes in the borough. I look forward to the development being completed as it will provide much needed homes for local residents, with the added benefit of a community space.”
Gordon O’Regan, Managing Director of United Living New Homes, said: “We are proud to be helping London Borough of Hounslow with their pledge to build 5,000 new homes by 2022. The topping-out ceremony marks a key milestone in the construction of 25 new council homes in Sparrow Farm Drive, a project which also includes a new community centre and neighbourhood public realm.
“Creating a lasting legacy with the work we do for local communities is a core value of our business, and it is a pleasure working closely with London Borough of Hounslow to maximise benefits for the area.”
