South Kilburn urban park work starts

Work has started on a new urban park for South Kilburn.

Ground Control started construction works this month on the new 0.2 hectare park off Albert Road. It was designed in consultation with local residents as part of the South Kilburn regeneration programme which is delivering around 2,400 new homes – half of which will be made available to existing secure tenants, new shops, a new primary school and new improved health facilities.

Councillor McLennan, Lead Member for Housing and Development at Brent Council said: “This is a significant milestone for the South Kilburn regeneration programme.

“We have met with local residents many times to discuss what kind of park they would like to see and what features it should include.

“The final proposals look great and I am thrilled to see the contractors on site beginning to turn this space in to a fantastic new park, creating a great place for residents to visit and enjoy.”
