SOS oppose King Street

A residents group called “Save Our Skyline” has formed to oppose the redevelopment planned for King Street.

The Hammersmith Chronicle reports seventeen residents associations and conservation groups – including the Hammersmith Mall (HAMRA) and Brackenbury Residents’ Associations, the West London River Group and the Cathnor Park Area Action Group – have lent their support to SOS, which claims the 320-flat block would ruin river views in Hammersmith.

This runs counter to the public opinion canvassed at an exhibition of the Helical Bar and Grainger plans for the new public square and resi/retail development replacing the unloved Hammersmith Town Hall extension, which found that over 80% of residents supported the scheme.

A planning application from King Street Developments, the JV vehicle promoting the scheme, is expected soon.

Helical Bar, Grainger and LB Hammersmith & Fulham are all exhibiting at Place West London on October 14. Book your place to join them now!
