Slough congestion busting work on site

Major improvement works along Windsor Road continue as part of the A332 route enhancement scheme.

Southbound road widening between Ragstone Road and Arborfield Close, the first of three stages, started this week and should finish in May. This will be followed by widening works running from Arborfield Close through to the High Street, estimated for completion by the end of November. Northbound road widening will also be taking place at Chalvey Park junction, starting in May and scheduled to finish in July.

The A332 Windsor Road project includes a programme of junction improvements, road widening and other works to improve conditions for general traffic and buses, making journeys quicker and more reliable.

Councillor Fiza Matloob, commissioner for transport and highways, said: “Windsor Road is a major link between Slough, Windsor and Bracknell, and an important gateway into our town for residents and businesses.

“This enhancement scheme will increase the level of accessibility to, from and around the town and by reducing congestion, we can shorten journey times for both the people who live here and the more than 40,000 who commute to Slough every day.”

The A332 (Windsor Road) route enhancement scheme has been funded by Thames Valley Berkshire Local Transport Body (on behalf of the Local Enterprise Partnership) and Slough Borough Council.
