Across West London, those construction sites which closed over concerns that they could not operate safely under the current covid-19 conditions are beginning to reopen.
Helped by guidance on safe operating procedures prepared by the Construction Leadership Council and Construction Industry Council, contractors and investors have begun to have the confidence that they can continue building and maintain the distancing measures without compromising health & safety.
The move by the construction sector’s leading bodies has been welcomed by both government and the construction sector, and the benefits are beginning to be seen. Among those sites reopening are Redrow Homes’ 116 home scheme in West Drayton, a 166 home scheme at Merrick Road in Ealing, and their 1200 home scheme at Aerodrome Road in Barnet. Taylor Wimpey’s 74 home scheme at Oakleigh Road North, Barnet, will also reopen soon.
These sites are just some of the many which are getting under way again.
Some sites stayed open throughout, confident they were able to operate safely, including Quintain’s 633 home scheme on plots E01 and E02 in Wembley Park.
