The site, formerly a significant GSK location, has a Grade II listed building – Glaxo House, a former laboratory built in the 1930s – which will be refurbished and converted to housing. GSM (Greenwish School of Management) are already operating a college in the office building – Horsenden House.
The masterplan developed by BFLS architects and Planit landscape consultants shows approximately 600 homes of varying scale and a mix of tenures. It also provides a leisure & retail hub including a cinema, food store, restaurants and cafes. SGL showed the plans at a consultation event this month.
The consortium – SGL – is a site specific development company formed to purchase and regenerate the former GSK site. SGL is working with its asset management partner XLB Property on the re-letting of the retained commercial buildings and the redevelopment strategy for the wider site.
Iceni Projects is a planning and development consultancy advising SGL and project managing the planning, transportation, sustainability and consultation for the site.
