Saracens submit Copthall plans

Saracens, the ruby club presently based at Watford FCs Vicarage Road ground, have submitted a revised planning application for Copthall.

The plans would involve an £18m investment in the stadium, reports the Barnet & Potters Bar Times. Barnet Football Club had hoped to move to the stadium from their present Underhill base, but Saracens plans for a 10,000 seater multi-sport venue would seem to block that.

Saracens chief executive Edward Griffiths told the Times: “”””We have put forward a revised planning application to invest £18m of private money to transform Copthall into a vibrant community sports hub.””””
