Sainsbury pushes forward on Fulham Riverside

fulham wharfSainsburys appointed Helical Bar as development manager, and Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands as architects for its site on Fulham riverside.

The supermarket group has chosen Helical Bar to develop a 100,000 sq ft food store, up to 700 homes, cafes and restaurants, on its Fulham Wharf site, as well as improvements to the riverside walkway and links from the development to the river.

Sainsbury acquired the site, which neighbours an existing store, from Ballymore in April this year. It is within a quarter of a mile of Tesco’s proposed new storeon Fulham High Street

Helical Bar director Matthew Bonning-Snook told Property Week: It is a good time to get into a position now with occupiers, with banks, with owners to get a consent and start working up development projects.

A public consultation has begun and a planning application is due next year.
