Sainsbury’s are looking to move into the former Entertainment UK warehouse in Greenford.
The retailer is reported to be hoping to move into the building on the Greenford Park Industrial Estate that formerly housed the Woolworths subsidiary, and has filed a planning application for minor works.
The property targetted by Sainsbury is very near to the purpose built facility that will open shortly for rival Tesco, which will provide around 500 new jobs. The two warehouses together would provide a signifiant employment boost for the area..
A Sainsbury’s spokeswoman told the Ealing Gazette: “Following preliminary conversations with officers at the Ealing Council, Sainsbury’s is looking into the potential uses of an empty distribution centre building at Greenford. We have submitted four minor planning applications. Should these be successful, we will consider leasing the site”.
