The plans would provide new wards, car parking, accommodation for parents and children, a private patients unit, a staff accommodation block as well as new homes.
The plan would replace what the Hostpital descrives as “poor” existing facilities, some of which were designed only for temporary use. A previous consent was granted in 2007 for a similar scheme, but the Hospital has opted to submit new plans to reflect the changing needs and economic situation.
PF2 could play a part in the redevelopment of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. Balfour Beatty and Bouygues are reported to be the final two potential development partners. An announcement is expected in June.
