The Place West London Advisory Board selected three entries from the Regeneration Showcase at the June 25 event for commendation.
The Regeneration Showcase was a curated display of the best regeneration projects around West London chosen for their innovative approach, and not for their scale. Mainly they were small schemes, although Brent Civic Centre made the list – a powerful example of how a council can use it’s own employees (and their location) to provide a boost to regeneration of a significant area.
The commendations – commemorated by the presentation of a certificate at the Place West London dinner – went to:
-
The Park Royal Atlas – selected for its strong focus on employers and jobs, doing a job never done before, for an area which has suffered over the years from not being controlled by one authority, but which persists in providing jobs and economic growth
- White City – where the private sector landowners have assembled a common vision for the regeneration of the area and are working together in a co-ordinated and coherent way to deliver it
-
Frock n Roll – a company established by Uxbridge College Students, and a collaboration with developer Cathedral Group to promote their work. Innovation leading to job and wealth creation.
Also showcased were:
- Heston Leisure Centre
- Homes for Harrow
- Copley Close
- Wembley’s world beating toilet
