clearview greenford red lion nov 2013Clearview Homes’  regeneration scheme in central Greenford on the former Red Lion public house has been approved.

The scheme for 44 flats to be built above 10,000 square feet of new retail space has been designed by Clearview Homes in conjuction with  West London architects, Assael.

“This has been the product of some quite detailed practical in-put and cooperation from Ealing planners and Councillors.  We really appreciate this and their shared enthusiasm for the project.” commented Robbie Greenaway, a spokesperson for Clearview Homes.

He went on to add: “We anticipate this will not only create some much needed new homes for the area, but also a focus to attract the investment of quality retailers to what is an important area.”

At the planning meeting, Councillor Julian Bell, Leader of Ealing Council, spoke in support of the application. He stated that it had been prepared over a period of time and would provide considerable benefits for Greenford. Retailers would be encouraged to come into the high Street encouraged by regeneration.

Councillor Jason Stacey stated he was minded to support the application. Overall he felt that it was a very good development; the design was good with the right use of materials, it was a good mix, there was good amenity space and access.

The five storey development will provide a mix of accommodation including eight affordable rented homes and two affordable shared ownership apartments. Particular attention has been given to the development’s eco-friendly character and carefully designed amenity space of a new community environment.

West London based Clearview Homes will once again be using Cellular Clay Block Thin Mortar technology construction. This will be their seventh site utilising this cutting-edge construction technique, which they say now places them as one of the UK’s leading exponents this technology.
